What Teams does today, and what replaces it
Microsoft Teams is more than a chat. It bundles meetings, phone calls, files and sign-in. So a Teams alternative has to cover all of these jobs. SecTepe.Comm does this with proven open-source software under one single sign-on. With email, files and office apps, it also replaces large parts of Microsoft 365 and Office 365.

Why teams switch from Microsoft Teams
Most companies do not switch because Teams works badly. They want control over how they talk and share again.
Data stays in the EU
SecTepe.Comm runs in your data center, with an EU provider of your choice or in the sovereign EU cloud run by SecTepe. Your data leaves the EU only if you explicitly ask for it. There is no access under the CLOUD Act and no hidden telemetry.
Open, not locked in
Chat, video and files rest on proven open-source parts. They use open standards such as WebRTC, IMAP and CalDAV. The chat also runs on an open protocol. You can check the source code, and you are not tied to one vendor.
Security is built in
The platform includes single sign-on with MFA and end-to-end encrypted chat. It also ships a SIEM, a web application firewall and a mail security gateway. You get enterprise-grade security without enterprise license prices.

Chat
Team chat instead of Teams chat
Group and direct chats with channels, threads and file sharing. Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted by default. You can also chat with partners who run their own compatible chat server (federation). You need no guest accounts in your system for that. Federation is off by default, and you approve partners one by one.

Video
Meetings that also replace Zoom
Video meetings run right in the browser over WebRTC. Outside guests need no plugin and no account. Your team signs in with single sign-on. So SecTepe.Comm replaces Teams meetings as well as Zoom or Webex.

Phone calls without a Teams license
We are building our own phone system. The core is built and tested, but not rolled out yet. You cannot make calls with it today. Desk phones will use TLS and SRTP for encryption. Read the current status on our phone system page.

How to move from Teams to SecTepe.Comm
We guide the migration. We set up single sign-on, mailboxes and shares so your team keeps working without a break.
- Pick how you run it. On your own servers, with an EU provider or in the sovereign EU cloud run by SecTepe. We can run it for you, or you run it yourself.
- Connect your identities. SecTepe.Comm becomes your central login with MFA. If you have an Active Directory, everyone signs in with the account they already use.
- Move your data. Email, calendars, contacts and files can be moved over from Microsoft 365.
- Start small, then grow. You begin with the core suite. Add modules such as appointment booking, meeting rooms or e-signature at any time, without switching systems.

Technical foundation
SecTepe.Comm uses proven open-source building blocks: Matrix with Element for chat, Jitsi Meet for video and Nextcloud with Collabora Online for files. Keycloak handles sign-in, and Asterisk is the base of the phone system.
